What is the simplest way to get a feed of news?

I am looking for news that is reported by mainstream global and local news outlets (Time, CNN, small town newspapers, etc.). I am looking for "legitimate"/offline news, i.e. news that is typically reported in print, not Reddit-style trending memes. Sorry I can't be more precise about this requirement.

I am looking for MANY stories, not just top stories, so the RSS feed on the Google News frontpage is not sufficient.

One Answer:

Simplest is to pay for an aggregation; eg the sites referenced at http://metaoptimize.com/qa/questions/7472/looking-for-social-mediawebforum-data-aggregation-providers

There are RSS feeds on Google News other than "Top News" (e.g., "World", "Entertainment"). I believe you can also create your own Google News feed with a search query.
