Hey, I don't have a background in NLP, but I really wonder how Google News could leverage machine learning to group news articles the way they do, is this some kind of hiearchical clustering algorithm or is there more to it? |

Das et at (2007) talk about how they do this for Google News, especially because they have high item churn (news is not news in a day). Essentially, they do clustering of users and news items. |
