Theano is a Python library that allows you to define, optimize, and evaluate mathematical expressions involving multi-dimensional arrays efficiently.

This isn't really a question. I just wanted to throw something up here with a 'theano' tag. Some people might prefer to use metaoptimize than theano's mailing lists, so I'm going to put a link to this tag in the support/community section of Theano's website.

Is there any chance things in plearn will be moving to use Theano?

PLearn, AFAIK, is pretty much dead.

One Answer:

Theano is really cool, and saves a lot of programming, training, and test time. Something I use whenever I can.

(also not really an answer, but oh well, I'm not against marketing theano here, I've been burned far too much by sign and constant factor errors in gradients to not appreciate it)

Hopefully support will be added for multiple GPUs. In addition to the time savings, not having to spend money like water for Jacket licenses would be nice.
